Re-ligare

2019

Re-ligare, is a celebratory rite. We attend a party that is eternally renewing itself. The song awakens memories that spread like wildfire among its members. The party becomes a celebration, destabilizing the social image of women embodied in ourselves. This experimental performing arts project, financed by Iberescena, is a collaboration between two women's collectives, Synecdoque escena from Spain and Desbordar from Chile, who propose to create a common piece from the union of their creative processes.

Cuerpos sin Borde is a practical research project that works with approaches of dance, song, ritual and theatricality. This began with a territorial investigation in Barranquilla, Colombia; then a second stage in the contexts of origin of each collective, to end in Chile in a residency at the premises of the Corporación Balmaceda Arte Joven. This process culminated with the premiere of Re-ligare, co-directed by Itahisa Borges (Spain) and Teresa Salas (Chile). This collaboration between both actresses trained at the Workcenter Jerzy Grotowski, "is born from the observation and identification of social traits that define us, and the question of who I am beyond gender definitions. The celebration as a possible place of rupture, the song as a detonator of an extraordinary experience and the body that seeks other ways to organize itself.”
